Dear Friends
and Family of the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape Tribe:
Through the
grace of the Lord, we are finally able to use our new building for our youth and
elders programs. After so many
years of hard work, dedication, and existence we have kept the tribal family
together! We are now in our
final stages of completing our tribal building.
Although we can use this facility for some things, the state of New
Jersey will not accept our use of the building for grant programs that we are
receiving, despite the fact that we don't
mind using port o pots and bottled water.
In order to
facilitate our award of a major Robert Woods Johnson Foundation grant, a youth
camp for healthy eating, living and entrepreneurship, for June 2007, we need to
complete our building. These
programs will be mentored by tribal elders, local area health organizations and
business professionals, hopefully on our tribal property!
The total
cost associated with the construction of our new building is $225,000.
Thus far, we have completed $100,000 of the work.
In order to keep the program on our 28 acre property we need to complete
our facility. Items such as restrooms with showers and a kitchen are needed in
order to fulfill this grant award as well as others we are seeking.
We only need
$125,000!
We are asking
1250 families to donate $100 strictly for our building completion.
All donations are tax deductible.
Some
ideas for donation: If you have 3
grown children, each of your children as well as yourself could donate $25.00;
you could donate $25.00 per month; you can ask your employer for a donation of
$100.
Please call
856-455-2115, 856-455-1273 or 856-455-6910 with your pledge today.
And please forward this message to all you know.
God bless you
and thank you so very much,
Mark Quiet Hawk Gould and the entire Tribal family
