CATALOG DESCRIPTION

Organic Chemistry II

Hours/Credits: 3 Lecture hours/3 Laboratory hours - 4 Credits

Course Description:
Continuation of CHM 201. Application of theoretical concepts to the study of the mechanisms of the reactions of major functional groups. The latter part of the semester is an investigation of the fundamental chemistry of some biologically important molecules. Laboratory sessions involve practice in modern methods of synthesis and analysis.

Prerequisite: CHM 201 -- Organic Chemistry I
